How to Track Missed Medication

When a client cancels a visit or is absent for a period, any dose that should have been administered but wasn't will appear on the eMAR with a clear alert:

The eMAR will display an orange alert symbol on top of the day where the absence or cancellation occurred.

To see the details, place your cursor over the symbol. A box will appear, showing:

  • The date and time of the cancellation or absence.

  • The reason, if one was input when the absence or cancellation was recorded.

Why This Matters

This simple alert is a game changer for demonstrating compliance. During CQC or other authority inspections, you can quickly show evidence that missing medications are due to a visit's cancellation or a client's absence, not an oversight. This clear digital trail helps keep your records accountable and reliable.
