Our Advanced Care Plan is a transformative tool for Standard and Pro customers. It gives you the flexibility to build your own templates from scratch using elements like body maps, drop-down menus, and file uploads.

Accessing Your Care Plan Settings

Only Admin users can reach these settings. To get started:

  1. Open your Nursebuddy portal.

  2. Go to Settings > Clients.

  3. Select Care Plan.

Creating and Customising Your Categories

Categories are the individual building blocks of your care plan (like "Nutrition" or "About Me").

  • Add New Categories: In the Categories tab, click + Add New Category.

  • Keep it Organised: Nursebuddy sorts lists alphabetically.

Pro tip: Use a numbering system like 01., 02., 03. before the name so they stay in the order you want!

  • Pick Your Input Options: This is where it gets exciting! You can add:

    • Note box: For free text.

    • Body Map: Perfect for marking skincare or wound areas.

    • Checkbox & Radio buttons: For quick "yes/no" or multiple-choice options.

    • Drop-down: For fixed choices.

    • File upload: To attach helpful images or diagrams.

    • Tasks: Link specific tasks directly to the category.

Below is an example on how to use the body map functionality for your skin care category.

Example: Building an "Initial Assessment" Category

Let’s say you want an "Initial Assessment" at the very start of your plan. Here’s how you’d build it:

  • Step 1: Name it 0.00 Initial Assessment. That "0.00" ensures it’s always at the top!

  • Step 2: Add your sections. You might use a Note box for "General well-being" and a Checkbox for "Day-to-day needs."

  • Step 3: Use sub-questions for more detail. For example, under "Income," you could add a sub-question: "Is this income enough to cover bills?"

  • Step 4: Once you're happy, go to the Template tab, open your template, and click Add Category to pull your new Initial Assessment in.

Adding a Care Plan to a Client’s Profile

Once your template is ready, it’s time to make it personal for your service user:

  1. Open the Client’s profile and go to the Care plan tab.

  2. If you're updating an active plan, click Review now.

  3. Add Intent Notes & Comments: This is vital for traceability

    • Intent notes: Why are you changing this? (Internal only).

    • Comments: What changed? (Carers see this in the app).

  1. Customise: Click each category to review it. If a category isn't needed for this specific client, tick Mark category for deletion.

  1. Save & Lock: Set a next review date and click Confirm review.

📋 Adding Specific Task Instructions

You can add client-specific instructions to your Tasks right here in the Care Plan. This ensures carers know exactly what to do when they arrive!

  1. Find the Task: Next to the task, you will see the option ''Add client instructions''

  2. Add Details: Click it and type the instructions (e.g., "Please use the green plate and cut food into small bites").

  3. Save: Click Save.

  4. Carer View: These notes appear instantly in the Nursebuddy mobile app for the carer to see during their visit.

Digital Signatures and Consent

If you’d like to get consent for the care plan from the service user, or want both the carer and client to confirm they have read it, we recommend creating a custom task with a digital signature action.

History and Printing

  • Previous Versions: Use the drop-down menu to review any past version for audits.

  • Print & PDF: Head to the Actions menu to print or save a copy.

  • Company Logo: Ensure your logo is in Settings > My Organisation so it looks professional on the PDF.
