Getting the app

Download the app Nursebuddy for Carers from your App store or Play Store:

The app is only meant to be used by carers. Manager/Admin/Family members logins are not supported. Managers/Admins and Family members need to access the system using their browser and login through: login.nursebuddy.fi

Completing visits on the app

  1. After downloading the app, enter the login details provided by your care company. You can also use the Forgot Pin option if you need to reset it.

2. You will then see your list of visits for the day. You can cycle back and forth between days using the left and right arrows.

3. Tap a visit to see more details, and the option to start the visit. You might be asked to turn on your location to record your GPS location and your camera (to scan the QR code) in order to check in to a visit.

5. You can then complete the tasks of the visit (for eg. filling in diary notes, ticking service boxes or adding values).

6. Reporting Medication

  • If your visit requires to administer medication you will see the option there, click check and report

  • Be careful of reporting in the app only the doses for the time of your visit. For example if your visit is at 10:00 am report the doses with the Morning Label.

  • Click in the medicine you want to report and select 'Report as Given' or 'Report as Not Given'. Remember that medication has to be administered accordingly, furthermore your reports needs to be reliable. If you did not administer the medication, don't report it as given.

For any of the options you will be able to set the exact time, either if is 'now' or 'set time' from the time picker.

  • For Not Given doses, please choose one reason from the reason list:

  • You can report all the doses in one go only if all of them were given or all of them were not given

  • You will find the PRN/As needed by clicking the Confirm as Checked button

  • Also if you want to check the date in the calendar or check past or future dates, click the Today date to open the calendar:

6. The Medication Administration task will be marked as completed only if you have checked all the categories of medication and clicked Confirmed as Checked in each of them

7. When the visit is finished and you have completed all the task within the app (notes, services and medication reports) you can check out

7. You'll then be taken back to your main visits screen and the visit will show up as completed.

Viewing clients' profiles

  1. When on the main visit screen of a client, tap their picture. This will take you through to their profile:

2. You will see options for Care Plan, Diary Feed, Calendar, then if you tap the More button, you'll see options for other info about the client such as Medication and File Attachments:

3. The Pin notes can be viewed either from the main page or from the Client Profile and also you can add new pin notes from either the pin notes box or by clicking the green plus symbol at the lower right corner where you can also add diary messages

Viewing Carer's Profile

  1. The carer can access their information clicking the 3 lines in the top right corner.

  2. They will find their weekly calendar and agenda, other carer's visits (this option can be disabled if requested).

From "My profile' they can add a photo, change the PIN code and to see any file that the company has shared.

What to do if you can't log in or have another issue?

"I don't remember my username"

Please contact your manager, they will be able to advise.

"I don't remember my PIN code or it doesn't work"

You can reset it from the Forgot PIN? link on the login screen.

If your email address or phone number has been added to your carer profile, you will receive instructions via email or SMS.

In other cases, please contact your manager.

"I tried logging in with my username and password but the app didn't let me in. What happened here? I'm a manager."

The app is only meant to be used by carers. Manager logins are not supported.

You can, however, log in as a manager or admin using the Chrome browser on your mobile device at: app.nursebuddy.fi

"The app does not work, what should I try?"

Uninstall the current version from your device and re-install the app either from the AppStore or Play Store.

"I am asked to input 'company code'. What is it and where can I get it?

If you are asked for this code, you can use: app

"I am in a hurry and don't have time to re-install the app. Is there any other way I can access my visits?"

Yes, as Plan B, you can always login using the Chrome browser on your mobile device at:

app.nursebuddy.fi

Use your normal username and PIN code, and you will be able to see your visit list as well as complete visits and notes.

"I see a notification about a network connection error but my device does have signal because I'm able to use the internet and other apps. What should I do?"

This notification may be shown if the device is changing from, for example, 4G network to Wi-Fi.

Closing and reopening the app should fix this problem.

As another trick, you can try toggling the network/Wi-Fi off and back on.

"I have another issue that is not listed here. What to do?"

First contact your manager, who may be able to help.

If it is a technical issue that several carers are having, they will be in touch with Nursebuddy's support.

"I am unable to see the latest changes or new visits assigned to me."

You can try to manually refresh the visit list by pulling the view downwards from the top of the screen.

You can also try to log out by going to the My Profile page and selecting the Log out option at the end of the page. Then log in again.

"The app keeps telling me that I am starting the visit outside the acceptable area"

"I don't have Internet connection, am I still able to login and complete my visits?"

Yes, but you need to make sure that you have logged in using Internet at least once in the previous 24h. If you haven't done this the app won't allow you to login because it would've been more than 24h of your last login using internet. Please try to find Internet connection, login and after that you can use the app up to 24h in off-line mode. During the off-line period the information will be stored in your app and once the connection is reestablished the app will send the info to the server, hence it will be visible in your managers' side.
