Learn how to set up, complete, and track quality checks in Nursebuddy to keep your care standards high and ensure your homecare service stays inspection-ready.

Using the Audits tool in Nursebuddy helps your office team maintain complete oversight of client care, spot compliance issues early, and easily gather evidence for inspections.

  1. Open the Audits workspace

    • Go to the Compliance Hub on the left blue panel and select the Audits tab.

    • Click New Audit and pick an audit type: Medication, Client Notes, Risk Assessments, or Care Plans.

    • Choose your date range using the calendar picker, then click Start Audit to generate your live workspace.

  2. Define the audit details

    • Add any general audit notes at the top of the page to give context to your team.

    • Use the progress indicator to control how many clients you need to review based on your internal company policies.

    • Review key overview details like who started the audit, the start date, and the selected date range.

  3. Review client records and audit details

    • Select a client from the list and click Audit to open their audit view.

    • Check specific items depending on the audit type, such as dose statuses, visit notes, risk ratings, or care plan priorities.

    • Click View to inspect full category details, or use View Client if you need to open the main client profile to update information.

  4. Log notes and assign action items

    • Add observations under Client Audit Notes by typing or using voice dictation.

    • Create trackable tasks under Action Items to flag missing notes, medication issues, or training needs.

    • Assign tasks to specific team members with set due dates, and track them directly from the main panel or the Action Items List.

  5. Pause or complete the review

    • You can leave the audit at any moment and go back later by clicking Resume if you need to step away—your progress saves automatically.

    • Click Mark Audited as you finish each individual client.

    • Click Finish Audit once you complete the full review to lock in the compliance record.

  6. Manage past audits and view progress

    • Return to the main Audits page in the Compliance Hub to see all historical audits, their current status, and completion percentages.

    • Click Edit Audit on a finished audit to add more notes or tasks (the system automatically tracks the "Last Edited" date for transparency).

    • Use the Actions menu to review audit security logs or delete existing audits

Action List items

Go to the Action items, under People in the blue panel.

You can track all the actions items you have been assigned to or if you are an Admin user, you can see all the action items that have been created for you and all the other users.

From this view, you can filter by status and by clicking the 3 dots at the end of each task, mark it as completed or open the audit where the task was created.
