Keeping your login credentials secure is crucial to ensure the protection of sensitive data and the smooth operation of your Nursebuddy system. Follow these best practices to maintain a safe and secure account:

1. Avoid Generic Usernames

  • Use a unique username that clearly identifies you, such as your full name or initials.

  • Avoid generic usernames like "Admin" or "Carer1," which can make it difficult to track user activity.

  • Each user should have an individual login for accountability and security.

2. Never Share Your Login Credentials

  • Your credentials are personal and should not be shared with colleagues.

  • Sharing credentials compromises security and makes it difficult to track actions within the system.

  • If a colleague needs access, request that an admin create a separate account for them.

3. Protect Your Password

  • Choose a strong password: at least 12 characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.

  • Avoid using easily guessed passwords like "password123" or "Nursebuddy2024."

  • Regularly update your password, and never reuse passwords from other platforms.

4. Log Out When Not in Use

  • Always log out of Nursebuddy after completing your tasks, especially if using a shared or public computer.

  • Avoid leaving your computer unattended while logged into Nursebuddy. Lock your screen if you need to step away temporarily.

5. Monitor Access and Devices

  • Only access Nursebuddy on secure and trusted devices.

  • Ensure your device has updated antivirus software and a secure internet connection.

  • Be cautious of logging in on public Wi-Fi networks unless using a VPN.

6. Report Suspicious Activity

  • Immediately report any suspicious activity or unauthorised access to your admin or support team.

  • Be proactive in monitoring your account for unexpected changes.

Coming Soon: Multi-Factor Authentication

You will be able to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for an extra layer of security.

MFA typically requires a second verification step, like a code sent to your phone, ensuring additional protection.

Remember: Your login credentials are a key to sensitive information. By following these guidelines, you contribute to a safer and more reliable system for your team and clients. If you have questions or need help, don’t hesitate to contact your admin or Nursebuddy support team.
