Medication Settings

Setting up your medication database and eMAR options correctly is crucial for compliance and safety. This guide shows you how to populate your database and customise your settings.

To change your medication settings, click "Settings" on the menu pane and click "Medications."

Medicine Database

Before you can assign medicines to your clients, you need to populate your "Medicine database" (this is the first tab you'll see). You can organise these into "Active", "Inactive", and "Entered in error" lists.

To add a medicine, click "Add medicine button"

Enter the medication details and click "Create." If you need to change a medicine's status later, just click on it in the list and use the drop-down menu—it will automatically move to the correct list.

Medication reason codes

When a carer marks a medicine as Not Given in the app, they’ll be asked to select a reason. Nursebuddy comes with 7 default reasons, but you can add more to suit your company’s specific requirements.

If you want "prompted" medication to be recorded in the eMAR, ensure the Medication Administration task is added to the visit. Carers can then select Not Given and choose Prompted as the reason.

Time of day labels

You can customise the names of your administration times to match your workflow. For example, you might want to rename Morning to Breakfast, or Night to Bedtime.

Fill the name in the corresponding field and click "Save" when done.
