One of the first steps when creating carer profiles in Nursebuddy, it is to set up their availability. In the tab Work Shift you can define what times of the day and what days of the week, each carer is available to work within your company.
To set up their availability follow these steps:Β
1. Select People > Carers > Works shifts
2. You will see a weekly calendar view ready to add in shifts. Just click in the date and around the start time of the work shift and a pop up box will appear.
3. Β You can set the duration and the repetition of the shift in the pop up window.
We suggest creating shifts for as long as they carer is available that day so you can allocate client visits within this time.
Their payroll report take into account only visit times where a carer is assigned. Availability or work shifts are not pulled through the payroll report.
Note: You can also add work shifts in the Schedule page; just click the carer's name on the left and "add work shift".
If you do not set your carers availability or work shifts, their name won't appear in the scheduling page and to add them to the scheduling page you will have to see the option + Add
Carer Work Shifts (Defining Staff Availability) ποΈ
One of the first and most important steps when setting up a new carer in Nursebuddy is defining their availability. The Work Shift feature allows you to clearly outline the times and days each carer is available to work within your company.
This makes scheduling visits so much easier!
How to Set Up Carer Availability:
Navigate to the Work Shift Tab: Go to People β Carers β Works shifts.
Access the Calendar: You will see a clear weekly calendar view, ready for you to add shifts.
Create a Shift: Simply click on the date and around the start time of the shift you want to add. A helpful pop-up box will appear.
Define and Repeat: In the pop-up window, you can set the duration of the shift and choose to repeat it (e.g., every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).
Nursebuddy Tip: We suggest creating shifts that cover the entire period the carer is available on a given day. This gives you the maximum time window for efficiently allocating client visits!
π‘ A Note on Payroll Reports
It's important to remember that your payroll report only calculates time based on the client visits a carer is assigned to and attends.
Availability or defined work shifts are used for scheduling only and are not pulled through to the payroll report. (This helps keep your pay calculations accurate!)
