This guide explains the different types of notes you and your carers can use and shows you how to manage Absences and add Events right within the carer's diary.

πŸ““ The Carer Diary Feed

The Carer Diary gives you a continuous log of their activity, including all the visits they've attended and any notes written by Managers, carers, or even family members (if they use the Famiy Portal).

A Quick Note on Security and Storage: Because the carer's diary is always updating, we don't recommend using it for storing important or confidential staff information. Instead, use these dedicated areas:

  • File Attachments: πŸ“„ Perfect for things like work contracts, company policies, and guidelines. You can choose whether or not to display these files to the carer on their mobile app.

  • Manager Notes: πŸ”’ Use these for your internal notes about care staff. Carers will not be able to see these notes on their mobile app, making them ideal for confidential discussions or internal-only records.

πŸ—“οΈ The Carer Calendar

The Calendar tab is your central hub for seeing everything scheduled for a carer. This includes all their visits, events, and any planned absences.

Your carers will also see their weekly schedule clearly laid out in the Nursebuddy App.

For more detail on managing time off, check out the guide on how to create an absence and reassign visits.

πŸ”” Creating and Managing Events

Events are brilliant for setting important reminders and notices, such as training sessions or inspection reminders. You'll create events for carers one-by-one.

Just bear this in mind: Events do not filter through to your carer reports, which means they won't automatically count as "paid work."

Good News! Depending on your settings, a carer may also be able to create events for themselves directly on the Nursebuddy mobile app.

πŸ›‘ How to Add an Event:

You have two easy ways to add an event for your carer:

  1. From the Carer's Calendar: Simply click on the specific day and time you want to schedule it. A window will pop up for you to enter the event details.

  1. From the Scheduling Page: Click on the carer's name to see a list of options, including "Add Event."

πŸ›‘ How Carers See Their Events:

  • Events will show up clearly in the My day view on the carer's app.

  • They can check in and check out from the event, just like a visit!

Need to delete an event? Just click on the event and select "Delete."

πŸ›‘ Adding Carer Absences:

Absences are essential for managing time off. Like events, you can add them easily from two convenient places:

1. From the Carer's Calendar.

2. From the Scheduling View: (By clicking on the carer's name)
