This article explains the differences between the type of notes that carers and managers can enter in relation to a specific client /service user and also how to add absences and events in the carer's diary.

Carer Diary

Your carer diary feed provides a log of all their activity: the visits attended and any diary notes written by managers, carers or family members/contacts which access to the Family Portal.

Note: As a carer's diary is constantly updating, we don't recommend storing any important or confidential information here. Depending on the need, you can use:

  • File attachments (Can contain files about their work contract, your company policies, guidelines etc. You can choose whether or not you want to display these files for the carer on the mobile app.)
    โ€‹

  • Manager notes (Can contain categories for the types of notes that your company uses to store internal notes about care staff. The carers will not be able to see these on the mobile app.)

Carer Calendar

The Calendar tab is where you will see all the schedules of a carer. This includes their visits, events and possible absences too.

The carer will be able to see the weekly calendar on the mobile app too.

Events

Events are useful for adding in reminders and notices for your carers, for example, training or inspection reminders. Events are created one-by-one for carers.

These events will not filter through to your carer reports, therefore, they won't count as "paid work" so do bear this in mind.

Depending on your settings, a carer may also be able to create events for themselves on the Nursebuddy mobile app.

To add an event for your carer, you can do it from 2 places:

1- Carers Calendar: By clicking in the day and time. This window will appear:

2- From the Scheduling page: By clicking in each carer's name you can see the list of options:

How carers will know about their events?

Events will be visible in the respective My day view in the carer's app and they can check in and check out from the event.

Note: If you need to delete an event, click on the event and then select Delete

Absences

Similar to events, Absences can be either added from the carer's calendar or from the scheduling view:

From the carer's calendar:

From the Scheduling View:

Absences can be filtered through Carer Reports, to learn how click here
